About Me
The forest products industry in the Grant County area of eastern Oregon has employed four generations of Glen’s family. For eight years in his early career, Glen was employed by Malheur National Forest as a forestry technician and fire fighter. In the late 1970’s he worked as a fire operations specialist at the Interagency Fire Center in Boise Idaho. After that he returned to the John Day area and launched his own company, Backlund Logging Co., specializing in forestry contracts and custom timber felling. Glen is currently the owner and president of Backlund Logging Co., which is an active participant in forest restoration contracting on the Malheur National Forest. Glen is a founding member of the Blue Mountain Forest Partners Collaborative.
