I have lived in Grant County for over 40 years. In 1978, my wife and I bought property in Bear Valley and built an off-grid, solar powered home. Over the years, we have raised sheep, mules, and horses. During that time, I also worked as a carpenter, millworker, building contractor, surveyor, and for the USFS Engineering Department, certified as building inspector, surveyor, road construction, and contracting officer’s representative. Bear Valley is surrounded by public forest lands so I have observed forest management practices, both positive and negative. My goal in serving on the board is to promote wise forest practices for the health of the forest and the communities it affects.
